About Glendale
Glendale Tea Estate is a historic South Indian tea estate established in 1835, located in a valley in the heart of the famous Nilgiri Mountains. It is situated at an altitude of 1,650-2,120 m (1,650-2,120 ft) and an SL train runs through the park. The tea grown in the cold, misty environment has a distinct impact, a golden water colour and a pronounced floral aroma. The Glendale Tea Estate covers 525 hectares and produces 3,000 kg of tea per hectare per year. It specialises in orthodox, green and speciality teas and has very hygienic, 'state of the art' machinery, even by international standards.
