It has a delicate spring aroma, but is well bodied, with a pleasant sweet, menthol-like, volatile, sudsy flavour. There is a terroir that is unique to Nilgiri teas, and it is evident that the tea leaves have absorbed the essence of the red earth. The aftertaste has a subtle citrus fruit flavour.

About Korakundah
Sir Robert Stanes was the founder of the United Nilgiri Tea Estates Co.Ltd (UNTE). Still a young boy of 17, Robert Stanes immediately launched himself on a career that was remarkable blend of entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
He set up and developed the area and for his contribution to society Robert Stanes was also conferred the title of Kaiser-e-Hind. In 1960, Sri. S. Anantharamakrishnan, father of the present chairman Mr. Sivasailam, bought over the interest of the Stanes family, not only in UNTE, but in a score of other family businesses in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris. UNTE along with other companies from the Stanes 'stable, became a part of South India's pioneering business conglomerate the Amalgamations Group. Tea gardens managed by UNTE include Chamraj Tea Estate and Korakunda Tea Estate.
Korakundah tea estate is one of the highest elevated commercial tea estate in the world. It’s located at 2,440 meters (8000 ft).
