About Lishan Tea
Lishan teas in Taiwan come from a number of regions, including Cui Feng, Cui Zhuan, Wuling, Fushoushan and Tianfu, but this Oolong tea is made from the most popular variety of high mountain Oolong tea in Taiwan, grown at an altitude of 2,600 metres in Fushoushan.
It is known as a very varied tea, with different harvest dates producing different tastes and qualities. Taiwanese tea enthusiasts liken this to 'rolling a dice'. When the dried tea leaves are placed in a hot lidded bowl (Gaiwan), they release a floral, molasses and ripe fruit-like aroma. When hot water is poured, savoury vegetable and creamy notes develop, with a sweet top note from the Gaiwan.
