About Ripe Pu'erh Tea
It is classified as one of China's six major tea varieties, Dark tea, and is the only fermented food. Among Dark teas, there is pu-erh tea, which is made in Yunnan and protected as a geographical indication, and Bian cha, which is produced and transported by factories designated by the Chinese government to maintain the health of people living in remote areas of China.
Pu-erh tea is classified into different types according to its shape, such as Bingcha, Tuocha, Zhuancha, Fangcha andJincha. There are also a variety of pu-erh teas on the market, including different grades, different cultivars of tea, different production processes (Raw tea and Ripe tea), and different ages.
