About Meng Ding Gan Lu

Meng Ding Gan Lu (蒙頂甘露) began to be produced in Sichuan temples around AD and became one of the three most consecrated teas in the Tang Dynasty, along with Zi Sun tea cake (紫筍茶) and Yang Jian Tea (陽羨茶). Before the mid-Tang dynasty, Meng Shan Tea (蒙山茶) leaves were rare and prized, and as demand increased, more tea plants were planted. Other teas from Meng Shan include the yellow tea 'Meng Ding Yellow Bud'(蒙頂黄芽) and 'Meng Ding Shi Hua'(蒙頂石花) According to the 16th century scholar Li Shizhen, who compiled the Compendium of Drugs, teas from “Meng Shan” can warm the body and cure illness, whereas other teas are generally cooling to the body."

Although the benefits of tea in the history books are not certain, there is no doubt that the taste of Meng Ding Gan Lu is enticing, relaxing and increases well-being.
