Bai Hao Oolong Tea (Oriental Beauty Tea)

This Oriental Beauty Tea is produced in one of Taiwan’s tea-growing regions, Taoyuan County in northern Taiwan, at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, in a land covered with red earth favoured by tea trees. It is beautiful from its shape, and its taste is exactly as it looks, and is worthy of the name Oriental Beauty. The thinly twisted tea is full of essence, fruity and sublime geranium fragrance, and the dried tea leaves also entice the admirer with their aroma. From the moment you pour in the hot water, the overwhelming fragrance is intoxicating, as if you have wandered into a flower garden.

About Bai Hao Oolong Tea (Oriental Beauty Tea)

Bai Hao Oolong Tea (白毫烏龍茶), also known as Oriental Beauty(東方美人茶), has many nicknames, and is also known as Formosa Tea, Ponkong Tea, Fushou Tea, Xiangbin (champagne) Oolong Tea, and was first produced in the late Qing dynasty.

It is mainly produced in northern Taiwan. From 1900 to 1940, Bai Hao Oolong tea was exported in large quantities to Europe and the United States and was granted a royal warrant by the British Royal Family, and it is said that it was the late Queen Elizabeth who named it "Oriental Beauty".

Bai Hao Oolong Tea is generally made from the Qingxin Daxiao variety, with one bud and two leaves plucked, and the production process is similar to that of other Oolong teas, but with a higher degree of fermentation (70%), which is similar to that of black tea.
